Prepare the USB Drive
- ›Download the ISO file (6.3 GB) from the download section above.
- ›Use a USB drive with at least 8 GB capacity. All data on it will be erased.
- ›Flash the ISO using Balena Etcher (recommended for beginners), Rufus (Windows), or dd (Linux/Mac).
- ›The USB is now a bootable PC Checker drive — you can reuse it on unlimited PCs.
Boot the Target PC
- ›Insert the USB into the PC you want to diagnose.
- ›Power on (or restart) the PC and enter the boot menu (usually F12, F2, DEL, or ESC — varies by manufacturer).
- ›Select the USB drive from the boot menu.
- ›Ubuntu will boot into a live session and PC Checker starts automatically.
Connect to WiFi
- ›A terminal window opens showing available WiFi networks.
- ›Select your network and enter the password.
- ›Once connected, a QR code appears on screen along with the local IP address.
- ›If you're using ethernet, it connects automatically — no WiFi step needed.
Open the Dashboard on Your Phone
- ›Scan the QR code with your phone camera (both phones must be on the same network).
- ›The PC Checker dashboard opens in your mobile browser.
- ›Enter the access code shown on the PC screen to authenticate.
Select a Profile & Run the Scan
- ›Choose from 8 test profiles: AI/ML, Gaming, Video/3D, Developer, Music, Server, Office, or Mining.
- ›Each profile weights hardware components differently for its specific use case.
- ›Tap "Start Scan" — the diagnostic runs in about 60 seconds.
- ›Watch real-time progress as each hardware component is analyzed.
Review Results & Export
- ›See your overall score (0-100), letter grade (A+ to F), and per-category breakdowns.
